So the potential for focusing is present when you speak, but hard to actually achieve. You are more likely to fall into focusing if you have a good listener.
If your listener just paraphrases you, that tends to trigger thoughts in your about the accuracy of what you said. You are essentially listening to what you said. Your natural reaction is to improve on the paraphrase.
And your listener can ask questions, or even steer you through the steps of focusing.
